on thursday, Eritrea celebrated 16 years of independence from Ethiopia. I was in Ethiopia when they first gained independence (I think), and remember Mum and Dad buying me a t-shirt which read "Eritrea is free".on reading it, the colonialist in me was probably rubbing his grubby little mits with glee...
and on the down side, Eritrea still has no free press.
